Bike Polo? Yeah you heard that right. Its a stupidly fun sport that no one has ever heard of. I was sucked into the wonderful world of bike polo back in 2013 and never looked back. It’s a high octane, full contact, inclusive sport that is played across the globe. 3v3, get the ball in the net, don’t put your feet down! I have dedicated my time on and off the court to documenting this truly special community. I’m obsessed with the polo story and have the privilege of occupying a front row seat to capture it. I love it so much I founded Polo Camp back in 2016 and we’re still running it. I even self published a book of polo photography. So yeah, you may have never heard of this whacky bike-ball-sport, but for me, it’s a huge part of my life.
The life lessons I’ve gleaned from the sport go beyond how to shoot a goal or handle my bike like a boss. It taught me the importance of community building, playfulness as an adult, and how to work together as a team. It gave me a wide open safe space to build my photography skills. It allowed me to step up, use my voice and make my wildest dreams come true.
